Sterling Moore rejoins Saints on a one-year contract. Nick Underhill of the New Orleans Advocate reported Sterling had received offers from other teams and was considering accepting one before the Saints offer finally came through. Both Moore and the Saints had expressed mutual interest in free agency.
“I got what I wanted,” Moore said during an appearance on Sirius XM’s NFL Radio. “I wanted to go back to New Orleans.” The return to New Orleans was important to Moore who has bounced around the league for several years. However, he has always played well against physical receivers and was a plus for the Saints last year recording two interceptions and 13 passes defended in over 13 games with the Black and Gold. Sterling Moore can hold his own on the football field as a nickel cornerback, and his return portends well for the Saints given his tough, veteran play.
