The New Orleans Saints have signed pass rusher Matt Shaughnessy according to the NFL Network. Shaughnessy, played college football at Wisconsin and was drafted by Oakland in 2009. Shaughnessy spent 2013 and 2014 with the Arizona Cardinals. He has a career total of 18.5 sacks. In 2015, Shaughnessy worked out for New Orleans and was cut during training camp. He also tried out during minicamp. Rotoworld reports Shaughnessy didn’t play a single snap last year, missing the season with an undisclosed injury. The soon-to-be 30-year-old is mostly a two-down run stopper.
