The Saints are in the queue of teams hoping to add Anquan Boldin to their roster. Anquan Boldin may be 35, but he has been a steadfast and tough presence over the middle for years. He is still very productive. So productive in fact the Saints are making a strong push to add the veteran receiver to their relatively young receiving corps.

Last year, Boldin had 69 catches for 789 yards and four touchdowns with the 49ers.  He remains one of the toughest hombres across the middle and his veteran (13 years) presence will be an addition to the young receiver corps of Brandin Cooks, Willie Snead, Michael Thomas and Brandon Coleman.

The Saints do have $2.4 million in cap space to sign him, and his favorite coach, Joe Morton, is the wide receiver’s coach for the Saints.

Boudin is a three-time pro bowler and is one of 13 wide receivers to surpass 1,000 catches. (He has 1,009).  He is also a well-respected player having won the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award over New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning and former Saints tight end Benjamin Watson. You can often find him working with a large number of charitable events helping underprivileged children, and in recent years, he’s made several trips to Africa in a partnership with Oxfam America.
