By now we know the Saints have Terron Armstead under contract for five more years but what does the contract entail for the New Orleans Saints?

The New Orleans Saints re-signed left tackle Terron Armstead to a new five (5) year contract which will extend him through 2021.  Armstead is a rising star in the NFL, and the Saints were wise to obtain his services for the next several years.  Armstead was chosen in the third round of the 2013 NFL draft and started in his rookie year.

The 24-year-old lineman is a tremendous athlete who had an excellent combine in 2013 and has emerged as one of the league’s top young tackles. Although there have been no pro bowls for Terron Armstead, Saints coach Sean Payton said last year, “There’s not a left tackle I would trade him for in the league.” [I’m] excited for him. He has worked extremely hard at becoming an outstanding left tackle,” Payton added this week. “Terron is a valuable and important piece to our offense and has shown that he is one of the top players in the game today,” Saints general manager Mickey Loomis said in a statement.

Armstead fought through a significant knee injury for most of 2015 and missed a good deal of practice time. He earned respect and praise from teammates and coaches for pushing through the pain.
