The National Football League has announced OTA dates for all teams today. The New Orleans Saints will hold OTA offseason workouts on May 24-26, May 31-June 2, and June 6-9, and a mandatory minicamp June 14-16. These “sports in shorts” program allow no live contact in the offseason workout program, but 7-on-7, 9-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills are permitted.
Teams are permitted to hold a rookie development program for period of seven weeks, beginning May 7.
On April 18, the Saints will begin the first phase of offseason conditioning which is comprised of two weeks of strength and conditioning only. Then, the Saints will have three weeks of individual player instruction. Offensive and defensive players cannot be pitted against one another in drills in the second phase. Once the second phase is over, the third phase will include OTA’s on the above-described dates and as well as ten OTA practices.
