Many draft experts believe there are only twenty potential draft picks who deserve a first round grade. One of the following 20 players will be selected by the Saints with the 13th pick.  Out of 20, there are a probable five (5) players that could fall to the Saints and would be a positional need.  There are five in the “cloud.”  I know you will argue best player available but if the best player available is a running back, do you think the Saints will draft a running back with pick #13?

The strength of this draft lies in the second and third rounds.  The Saints have traditionally gone with a skill position with the first overall pick in the draft. And while I would love to have the skill set of La’el Collins with the team, I truly believe the Saints believe they can develop offensive linemen in house and are not likely to select an offensive lineman with the first pick.  Therefore, I believe one of the players most likely to be selected are DeVante Parker, Arik Armstead or Alvin Dupree.  This is not a standard approach to predicting a pick–what are you thinking?

If Saints go wide receiver–DeVante Parker has been compared to A J Green, Michael Floyd and Keenan Allen.  Parker is 6’3″ and can out-physical defenders.  He is speedy. Some have opined he is as great a prospect as Kevin White and Amari Cooper.

Patrick wrote about Alvin Dupree here.  These are the draft profiles on Arik Amstead here and here.
