The Saints have released Jay Richardson, who has not played many snaps since being re-signed by the Saints, and have signed DE Keyunta Dawson.

Keyunta Dawson, a Shreveport native, played for the Tennessee Titans. He was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the seventh round of the 2007 NFL Draft. In college, he played defensive end for the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

After four seasons with the Colts, Dawson signed with the Detroit Lions. He was released by the Lions on September 3, 2011. In January, 2012, the Tennessee Titans signed Dawson. After three games, Dawson was placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury. On March 7, 2013, the Titans re-signed Dawson to a one-year contract. Obviously, he was subsequently released and is now signed by the Saints.

Sorry to see Jay Richardson go and would like to welcome in Keyunta Dawson.

#Saints have been running mostly with four DL. So Dawson makes sense. Richardson is more of a 3-4 LB. Only saw 2 special teams snaps vs. CHI
